2008 Course Details May 27th, 2008
Big Fish Golf Club - Hayward, WI "In Hayward, (Pete) Dye and design associate Tim Liddy created two distinctive nines. The front nine is links-style, using contours and angles and feathery fescue grass and asking golfers to be imaginative and wise. The back nine rumbles through the forests that have made the surrounding resort area so popular with mountain bikers and cross-country skiers; it's an exercise in precision and strength, with each passing hole seemingly more difficult than the last." Teal Wing Golf Club - Hayward, WI "From the gold or back tees, Teal Wing plays to 6379 but to a slope rating of 139. To put that high slope rating into comparison, Whistling Straits, site of the 2004 PGA Championship, features a slope rating of 137 from their green tees, which measure out at 6450 yards. In fact, if Teal Wing was roughly 500 yards longer, it would be the toughest course in the state." Read more of this review | Course Website
Troy Burne Golf Club - Hudson, WI "In its first true championship test, the 7,003-yard links course held its own against Nationwide Tour players last July. Kevin Stadler won in a playoff after he and two other players tied at 15 under par. Out of 30 Nationwide tournaments in 2004, Troy Burne ranked as the ninth-toughest course. Players averaged 70.73 per round on the par-70 layout." Read more of this review | Course Website

 | DRUSCH INJURED; IN RE-HAB July 16th, 2007
Arnie Drusch (Gary's) was reportedly injured during a pre-shift pep-fest at a Best Buy store in the Minnespolis/St. Paul metro area.
The injury has been traced back to a staff wiffle ball game that was intended to get "blue shirts" (Best Buy staff members) fired up for their upcoming shift.
"I took a big swing while up to bat", said Drusch, "and I immediately knew something was wrong."
The injury appears to be a tissue based strain to the back with no structural damage. Doctors report that it takes about three weeks, on average, to recover from a muscle pull with some relief being felt after about ten days.
Drusch will be sidelined until Round 1 on July 27th when he joins Team Gary in their quest for "The Scratcher".
JOHNSON & JOHNSON DUEL AT BREEZY July 12th, 2007
Number 1 seed Jeremiah Johnson (Gary's) defeated number 2 seed and defending champion, Nick Johnson (Cheers), 2 & 1 in the final match of the Breezy Point Challenge.
The 9 round marathon tournament ended when the number 1 seed gently rolled his downhill par putt 10 feet into the cup on the 17th hole. The match was a rollercoaster ride that saw Nick up 2 holes on the front nine and down 3 holes at one point on the back nine.
Both players made it through 3 rounds of 9-hole match play to meet in the 18-hole finale. 108 holes of preliminary play and 44 holes of match play were required to crown the 2007 Breezy Point Challenge Champion.
RABE SHOOTS 65 AT THE PINES DURING WARM-UP ROUND July 1st, 2007
